Neighbourhood Trips from Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh is ideally located to combine a trip there with a few more destinations thrown into the trip. It is located quite close to another excellent National Park in the same state. This is the Kanha National Park, which is located a short and interesting eight hour drive away. Enroute to Kanha is also located the Fossil National Park. This park is a must see for archaelogical buffs.

Other interesting places that can be visited before or after Bandhavgarh are :

Khajuraho: this place is world famous for it's temples
Jabalpur: Some of the places of interest in this otherwise crowded city are the Marble Rocks and the Dhuandhar Waterfall.

An interesting stopover en route to Kanha is the Fossil National Park

Panna: This area house the Panna National Park and the Ken Ghariyal Sanctuary. It is also famous for it's diamond mines.
Amarkantak: This is the origin of the mighty river Narmada
Chitrakoot: A peaceful and scenic area also famous for it's beautiful temples
