Bandhavgarh experiences very definite and extreme seasons. Your choice of wardrobe carried along with you should depend completely on the time of year that you plan your visit there.

During the summer months, between the months of mid-March to June, think only light. Light T-shirts, light shorts or trousers, sunshades, dark glasses, tivas (rafting footwear) and anything that doesn't block off that little bit of breeze to cool you down. Towards the end of May and June, it would also make sense to carry along a light raincoat for the occasional showers. Although, with the prevailing heat at the time, a drenching is quite a heaven sent gift.

Rides into the park can get very chilly on winter mornings and evenings

In the winters, end October to mid-February, the days are extremely pleasant if the sun is out and a light sweatshirt is sufficient. However, if the sun disappears behind some clouds, the temperature can drop down to as low as 2 degrees centigrade and winds can become extremely chilly. A very warm jacket must be carried along for these months, specially for the early morning rides into the forest. Gloves provide some welcome warmth too. Specially for photographers who find it difficult to operate their cameras with frozen hands or with hands tucked between their thighs and the seat of the vehicle. For people with sensitive skin, it is advisable to carry some protection from the sun in winters too as it's rays can be strong during this time of the year too.
