The best way to go to Kanha is in your own transport as it located at quite a distance from any major town. However, if that is not a possibility, there are regular bus connections from Jabalpur to Kisli (at the park) via mandla. Also available from the neighbouring towns are taxis that are run by local operators. Some of them operate jeeps that can be hired for your entire trip along with a driver. It is difficult to find self-drive vehicles on hire without the additional driver. If you are staying at one of the bigger resorts at the park, it is possible to request them to arrange transport for you beforehand. However, it is advisable to be present personally to choose the vehicle, if hiring it for the entire trip. Some of them are really quite loud and noisy and could end up proving to be quite a headache that could spoil your whole trip.
