Due to the Pench National Park only recently being truly discovered by some wildlife enthusiasts, the accommodation facilities are still developing (in 2003). Most of these resorts are located close to the entrance, a convenient two minute drive away. Besides the government run property of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department Corporation, there are approximately four private resorts being developed. The Wildlywise pick of the lot was the Wild India Camps' Bagh Van. One of the promoters met by Mohit was Suhail Gupta.

The fact that Suhail has been deeply involved in wildlife programs and film making shows its touch in the resort he and his wife have developed foundation up. Each detail has been looked into and visitors' suggestions are taken seriously. The location has been tastefully chosen with a lovely stream running along the boundary. Not a single tree has been cut or moved to make way for cottages. Only more have been added. The cottages are well spaced out to offer privacy to the visitors and yet kept close enough to ensure everyone's security. The paths leading to each cottage are well lit by tastefully chosen lanterns that do not take away the joy of a jungle night and yet ensure you don't tread on any wildlife while heading back from dinner. The entire ambiance is excellent, with well trained staff and delicious meals. There is a dining hall that one does not have to queue up for and can seat all the visitors at one go. This hall has been built to ensure the jungle experience continues indoors too with huge single piece glass windows and doors.

The tastefully built cottages have been beautifully constructed among the existing trees, with details looked into indoors and out

The rooms are spacious and the air ventilation is excellent due to the roof tiling. Lighting is excellent with no expense spared to provide enough points
The cottages have been made with minute detailing looked into on the exterior as well as interior. Air cooling is provided, which however is only required for a short period during the summer months. The bathrooms are excellent with showers that have enough wonderful pressure to soak you in a second. There are enough plug points with electricity that stays stable even on backup alternate power. The beds are comfortable and a nice sit out area is provided to each cottage. The ventilation of the rooms is excellent even with the windows closed thanks to the roof tiling.

Windows and doors often have to be kept shut due to naughty and inquisitive monkeys looking for food. The sitting area at one of the windows is an excellent place to keep a look out for some passing wildlife early morning and after sunset. All the trees and bushes of the resort and its surrounding areas are teeming with birds and an enthusiastic birder is kept extremely busy by these feathered beauties, even when he or she isn't visiting the park. Any help required in identifying species is only a quick question away to one of the many trained and experienced naturalists employed there.

Even the safari jeeps have been specially designed to provide each passenger with an unobstructed view of the surroundings

The other option that is worth checking out, but according to Mohit only if place is unavailable at Bagwan, is the MPTDC property. The resort is very tastefully made on the exterior but is left slightly lacking on the interiors. The staff seem warm but appear to lack the efficiency of the team at Bagwan. The resort has a large dining area, which is open-air but covered from the top. This provides a very nice feeling to the dining experience except in the couple of months prior to the monsoons, when insects attracted by light become a bit of a problem. Room service is also available.

The MPTDC resort is well designed looks nice from outside but a little more eye for detail was required for the interiors too.

The resort also provides conference facilities for visiting corporates. One excellent feature about this resort is that it caters to a very wide range of budgets.

The Mowgli huts at Karmajhiri
Besides these, another option are the forest rest houses run by the park authorities. The main rest house complex is located at Karmajhiri. This consists of 12 rooms and a 15 bed dormitory that is being built. The most aesthetic of the lot is the old forest rest house, but the newly constructed Mowgli huts offer maximum comfort. However, do not go by the name, these huts burn quite a hole in your pocket. Besides Karmajhiri, rest house are also available at Khwasa, Rukhad and Ghatkohka.

A youth hostel offering not very welcoming dormitory accommodation is located near Turia.
