Although he loves this picture of a very young tiger cub trying to scale a cliff in Corbett National Park, Mohit feels this is one snap of his that does not even come close to describing the atmosphere of the moment. It was known that there was a mother in this area with her two cubs. This cub was soaking wet and Mohit and his mahout were between it and the water, which is obviously where the mother was concealed and ready to charge at the slightest hint of danger to her baby. To add to the atmosphere, monkeys in the tree right above Mohit's head were jumping about wildly, coughing out their alarm calls continuously. To add the icing to the cake, their own ride elephant kept rumbling as if it had a generator going in it's stomach !

It isn't often that one manages to get this close to a tiger and also get a clear snap, since they tend to walk at a very brisk pace always. Mohit zoomed in and panned along with the tiger to get this lovely side profile.

Concealed from the tiger by a bush and being downwind, Mohit managed to get this shot during a rare occasion when you are aware of a tiger's presence and it isn't already aware of yours !

A tiger takes a refreshing swim to cool itself after a meal on a hot Indian summer day. The flesh eaten by tigers creates a lot of heat within the body and tigers are often seen near water after they have just eaten.
