Fateh Singh Rathore: Anyone who knows anything about Ranthambore National Park definitely knows of Fateh Singh Rathore. One meeting with the man makes you feel the personality that has been written about in many a book. He was with the wildlife department and spent most of his life looking after and caring for Ranthambore and it's wild inhabitants. Even today, he has been given the status of Honourary warden of the park. One outing with the man into the jungle is enough to gauge the decades of experience in the field that has gone behind what now comes to him instinctively - His understanding of the animals. He is a man many have misunderstood or not desired to understand. He is a man who loves the joys of life. It is a pleasure meeting this truly wild guy at his home, "maa farm", on the approach road to the park.

Fateh Singh Rathore-Probably the only man as well known as the tigers of Ranthambore
He, and his family, are all still involved in one way or another to make their contribution towards bringing about a ray of hope for the survival of Indian wildlife.

G.V. Reddy - a forward thinking officer of the wildlife department

G. V. Reddy
: In the recent past, another name has begun to be associated with the pioneering work being done at the Ranthambore National Park - G. V. Reddy. This officer with the wildlife department of India is a man with no confusion in his mind about what he aims to achieve. Talking to him leaves you in no doubt that he not only knows what his goals are, but also is sure of the steps necessary to achieve them. With a slightly more scientific bent of mind, his target area differs from most others one speaks to in the same line. His target areas are the villages surrounding the park, alternative fuel supplies for them, the neighbouring cattle grazing areas, the education of a smaller group of individuals who can then spread their learning further.

He is definite in his mind that if the problems of these target areas caused due to the creation of a National Park in their vicinity can be solved, the woes of the reserve will automatically get ironed out. Therefore, eradicating the problems faced by the forest and it's inhabitants, including the tiger.
