November 01 - April 2002


Day 01 Connect train from Delhi to Agra at 0600 hr . Arrive Agra at 0810 hr. and drive to Patna Bird Sanctuary (2 hr.). Full day birding with packed lunch. Return to Agra in the evening. Overnight in a 4-star hotel. Patna is a small waterbody covering 2 sq. km. and is tremendously rich in migratory waterfowl and other species. More than 200 species have been recorded there. The birds allow close access and there are watch-towers for birding.

Day 02 Drive to Chambal (2 hr.) before the day-break. Full day boat cruise in the National Chambal Sanctuary for birding and wildlife viewing. This is the best river to see the Indian Skimmer and other water birds. There is a good population of gharial, mugger and six species of turtles. Return to Agra in the evening and connect train to Delhi at 2000 hr. Arrive Delhi at 2200 hr.

You can opt for a visit to Taj Mahal in the afternoon if you are willing to cut short the boat cruise after lunch.

Cost per head
US $ 225 per person (on minimum two persons travelling basis)

Cost includes only
· The rates are for two full day excursions in a non-ac car to Patna and Chambal. Lunch on both days. boat ride, overnight stay in a 4-star hotel in Agra, to & fro ac train tickets.
· Validity: October 01, 2001 to Apr. 30, 2002.
