Best time to visit - December to March

Day 01 Depart early from New Delhi to arrive for lunch at the wildlife resort. A nature walk accompanied by a naturalist, along the Kosi River. This area is a birders' paradise. A slide show on the flora & fauna of the area. Jeep Safari in Corbett National Park for tiger tracking. We drive along the Ramganga, to look for the fish eating Gharial and Marsh Crocodiles. With the possibility of seeing 05 species of Kingfishers, Pallas & Himalayan Greyheaded Fishing Eagles, Osprey, Crested Serpent Eagle and of course the Mammalia, the Safari is magical. Arrive at Dhikala, the natural setting is awesome and the location picturesque. Lunch / rest / relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the grassland area and its abundant wildlife. The elephant ride from Dhikala provides the opportunity for close viewing of wildlife. Jeep to Gairal Lodge for overnight stay.

Day 02 Early morning Jeep Safari in the Gairal area and into the awesome wilderness of the Park. Arrive at the wildlife resort. Drive in the jeep to get to the point where we start the elephant safari. Enroute visit Kanda situated at an elevation of 1020 m, where Jim Corbett shot the Kanda Man-eater. After a picnic lunch we start the elephant Safari in the Himalayan foothills. The experience of just being on an Elephant - a silent bulldozer which has unmatched cross country abilities. You can change seats with the Mahout and get the feel of driving an Elephant. Arrive, after leisurely driving / riding, at Rathuadab Forest Rest House, built in British bungalow style for overnight stay in the wilderness.

Day 03 We start a complete full day on elephant back, stopping enroute at a picturesque spot for breakfast, always learning the mysteries of this wonderful animal. The birdlife in this lower altitude wilderness is rich. We take rest at Modiapani Forest Rest House & give our elephant a break and a bath in the stream. Start elephant safari for the Sonanadi sanctuary, going along the rocky Plain river, the forested areas and scenery is spectacular. We arrive at Halduparao Forest Rest House built in 1892 was broken down by Wild Elephants and abandoned. The Sonanadi Sanctuary was included in the Corbett Tiger Reserve and this Forest Rest House was restored, a few years ago. After a hot water bucket wash, we get together at a campfire. Overnight stay at the forest rest house.

Day 04 Option of either going for an elephant ride or Jeep Safari or nature walk with an armed guard in the Sonanadi Sanctuary area, for wildlife viewing. After breakfast, we depart by Jeep with packed lunch via Sendhikhal / Saneh / Morghatti / Kalagarh / Jhirna / Dhela / Ramnagar, reaching the resort by late evening.

Day 05 Depart for the next destination.

NOTE: Dhikala / Rathuadab / Halduparao FRH - basic accommodation on Twin / Triple sharing with non-flushing, Indian style toilets. We are a personalized service organization and fully adept at providing luxury in the Wild. Timings are subject to local conditions and are liable to change.
